A friendly set of questions to help us understand what you’re hoping to achieve

When someone asks us to run a workshop or support an organisational development project, these questions help us understand what will genuinely serve you best. There’s no right or wrong answer different approaches suit different purposes.

Choosing the right approach

1. What’s prompting this request right now? What’s happening in your team or organisation that makes this feel timely or important?

2. What challenge or opportunity are you hoping to address? Is there a specific problem, pattern, or aspiration you want to address?

3. What kind of change do you hope this work will create? What would you like to see, hear, or feel afterward?

4. What type of experience do you want participants to have? Are you hoping to inspire, motivate, agitate, educate, or organise?

5. How do you want participants to feel when they leave? Energised? Hopeful? Clear? Connected? Challenged in a good way?

6. What would you love to hear participants saying afterward? Imagine folks chatting in the hallway… what do you hope they’re saying about the experience?

7. What’s the call to action? What’s the next step you want people to take after the workshop or project?

8. What do you hope participants will do differently as a result? Are you aiming for new habits, shared language, clearer expectations, or something else?

9. How will you know this has been successful? What signs, behaviours, or shifts would tell you the work has made a difference?

10. What outcomes matter most to you? What would you love to walk away with at the end? Are there any concrete deliverables you want (e.g., a shared vision, a draft framework, a plan)?
